Ear moulds jewellery

I had a one to one tutorial recently and shown my press pack image to my tuytor and he thought it is good. He was confident that it could happen in reality and would speak to jewellery designers about my ear moulds idea. Imagine how great that would be!?

My safe and sound film

I have completed my film a few days ago, the film turned out great and I am happy with it! The sound was hard to do and I hope it is okay as I am profoundly deaf. I tried to put the film on my blog but it was only available to US users. How annoying, I was looking forward to upload it here!! So I have uploaded it on yourtube.com.

Where my idea for my press pack started

This image was from my old school's magazine called soundwave about the education in Mary Hare School and what deaf pupils have been up to! I modelled on front cover magazine! This is a good idea with ears moulds represents young deaf people. It is where my idea came from for my press packs.

Tarnation, a film about personal issues from childhood

When I heard the project brief about making a personal short film. This film Taranation came up in my mind, this is a good example of a film about a person’s personal issues from childhood, by editing with old photos and videos, some of Tarnation’s clips are creative using effects from I-Movie software. When I watched it I thought it was good but a bit too long and involve lots of every day life, but maybe with a short film it would be more exciting and leaving people wanting to watch more about the subject? I am impressed with this film especially it was created on I-Movie at home for nothing.

Inspired by the film Run Lola Run

This film shows a rollercoaster of emotions as it jumps from slow emotion scenes to fast contrasting scenes such as a clip showing the girl running. The film is realism based on locations and the director focuses on actress running most of time. It also has interesting techniques using fast snapshots of still photos showing the lives of people and what's happening with the story. The point of film is to get us inside the actress's head and feel her emotions. This is what I am looking for in my film, I want my film to about my emotions and get people in my experience of life.

Safe and Sound project

My chosen subject is “Safe and Sound”. After growing up through a difficult childhood due to my hearing impairment whereby I attended a deaf school and was the only girl in my class and I felt isolated. This continued until I reached age 14 years old when I moved to a boarding school, which gave me lots of opportunities that I never had while growing up. I keep telling myself, if it wasn’t for my deafness I wouldn’t be the person I am now- ambitious, have a wonderful deaf boyfriend and an exciting life!

For my film, visual language will be the main focus because it represents deafness. In the world of deafness we use our eyes a lot more than hearing people do and visualising is much more appreciated by hearing impaired people. So I am planning to use some abstract shots of an eye. I will also show some clips of people talking with no sound. The audience will experience some imagery clips of what it could be like if they could not hear sounds. Some of my clips will be fast and visualising, inspired from a film called “Run Lola Run”. I think the filming will be relaxing, edgy, playful and then put them together randomly in the editing. This will reflect the story of my childhood and feelings.

The purpose of my project is promoting to encourage people to have some faith in deaf young people and support them to get opportunities in life and education. I have decided to use a blog more of a personal approach. Where people can discuss thoughts on the blog at same time promoting to persuade people to attend my film’s viewing by offering them press packs including sign language classes discounts. Ear moulds (For hearing aids) as a fashion accessory such as bracelets, or even i-pod earphones ranging in different colours, could be bright or glittery as a ‘new fashion’. I will be promoting and designing the product to sponsorship young deaf people.
